Supervisor(s): William Grant, Jack Santino, Ewart Skinner
Date Begun: 5/1/96

Degree: Ph.D.

Description:

In its present incarnation the dissertation project will proceed as follows: First, an exhaustive review of all the existing references citing connections between Campbell and the popular artists will be undertaken. Second, this research will be used to provide a narrative framework. This framework will be used to construct individual profiles which will inform the initial ethnographic interview process. If possible a second set of interviews informed by the first will be conducted. This combination of interviews will constitute the fieldwork aspect of this project. Third, after the field work is finished the data gathered will be cross referenced both for verification and relevant themes. Fourth and finally this project will culminate in the authoring and construction of a multimedia narrative.
