EAF Author: Charles Frederick Briggs (1804-1877)
Charles Frederick Briggs was born in Nantucket in 1804. He became a journalist and editor in New York City, and was author of the humorous novels Harry Franco, a Tale of the Great Panic, The Haunted Merchant, and The Trippings of Tom Pepper. Briggs also authored the short story Working a Passage; or, Life in a Liner.
