Delia Salter Bacon was born in Ohio, and was the earliest exponent of the Baconian theory of the authorship of Shakespeare. Her principal works are Philosophy of the Plays of Shakespeare Unfolded; Tales of the Puritans; The Bride of Fort Edward: A Drama.
