EAF Author: Joaquin Miller (1837-1913)

Born Cincinnatus Hiner Miller, he later adopted the name Joaquin after a Mexican brigand. Miller was born in Indiana but moved to the West, where he practiced law and owned a newspaper. He went to England in the 1870s, and achieved great fame there. In 1877, he returned to the U. S. and settled in California.
