Carysburg January 20 1860

    Sir I take this oppertunity writing
you [unclear: these] few lines hoping to you well as it
leaves me at Present you will Pleas to send
me a [unclear: m] a white dress one Kegg of 10o penny nails
one of shiglen nails [ 6o] one Piece of Bron Linnen
Drill for Pantaloons and Pleas to send me som
tobaco and som Bleach cotton and one Pair of
shoes [ NO] 7's for my self one Pair of No 6 for Isabella
If you can Posible send them Pleas to Do so
for I [unclear: need] them very much my children is
all well and are Doing the Best we can


Maria Barett

    Pleas to tell Martha Ann that we are well
and are Doing tolerable well Charles & Dick are
growing fine they have had ulcers on there
feet for nearly two years butt they [ are] getting
well. Iisabella is well and Doing tolerable well.
I have written to [ you] Before, But I never got a[ n] ny
answer you will let me no wher Charles
and Maria is as I have never herd from them
since I have Been out [hears] [ here] . [me] [ I] nor Isabella
is not mared yet. I have not seen anny one
to suit me sinc the Death of my husband.
My mother is quit well and Keeps her health
well Mary has had twins and she quit smart
one of them is Dead Give my love [ to] all inquiring
friends
