13. Small Side Chair. This was one of four chairs bought for this room after it was acquired. The chairs used to go around a small gate-legged table. The table and four chairs were definitely in the room in 1953. (Ms. Freudenberg remembers putting leather dressings on books at that table in 1953.) Later the table appeared in the Library Staff Room. The University of Virginia inventory registration number is 287298. There is a simplified fleur-des-lis pattern in the chair's spoked back. The piece may be maple or walnut or cherry.
