Student Groups: Central Virginia Scriptural Reasoning Group

Jointly sponsored by Eastern Mennonite University and the University of Virginia, this group of faculty, students, and community members meets monthly to conduct interfaith scripture studies with an emphasis on social justice.

For the group's first meeting in November 2007, the topic was "Ecological Practices and the Environment." Texts for that session were:

The Group met again on December 2, 2007 at UVA to discuss the same topic. Texts for that session were:

• Deuteronomy 20:19-20
• 2 Peter 3:3-15a
• Surah 71

The Group's next meeting is tentatively planned for January 13, 2008 in Harrisonburg. Texts TBA.
