Monday:

pm: Using the Text Encoding Initiative (TEI) DTD
Ebook technologies.
Tuesday:
am: The Great Transcription: using the TEI Guidelines for manuscript materials.
pm: Demonstration of the UNB Electronic Text Centre
Digital images of textual items: creation, manipulation, uses, and control.
Wednesday:
am: Data control and MARC interchange: the TEI header and other metadata issues
pm: Transcription and mark-up continues
Introduction to stylesheets and data rendering
Thursday:
am: Another form of XML: the Encoded Archival Descriptions DTD (we will build an EAD guide for our collection of letters).
pm: Visit to see the digital cameras. Visit to Special Collections.
Project planning and grant writing
Friday:
am: The Great Parsing: validating TEI documents. Our texts go on-line Friday lunchtime.
pm: SGML/XML as an interchange format: automated TEI to HTML conversion; demonstration of TEI to ebook conversions
The final product and review.
