I. BRIEF OVERVIEW OF STRUCTURE AND CONTENT:

The Sol and Evelyn Henkind Talmud Text Databank is a fully searchable Talmud database, published by the Saul Lieberman Institute and the Jewish Theological Seminary of America.

II. STARTING UP THE HENKIND TALMUD TEXT DATABANK:

Click on the Start Menu, select Programs, and then click on the Henkind database MS-DOS icon (near the end of the list of programs. The program should load automatically and bring you to a menu screen. If you have any trouble loading the program, please ask an Etext staffer for assistance.

III. USING THE HENKIND TALMUD TEXT DATABANK:

As both the database and the program's menus are entirely in Hebrew, the Etext Center can help you with technical difficulties, but can offer you little direct assistance in gathering data from the program.

IV. EXITING THE HENKIND TALMUD TEXT DATABANK AND REMOVING THE CD-ROM:

At the main menu screen, the last menu option will exit the program. You should find yourself back at the Windows desktop.
