The primary on-line search tool used by the Electronic Text Center is the OpenText search engine.
During our first two years of operation (summer 1992 - summer 1994) we used this search tool through a pair of proprietary interfaces -- Patty and PatMotif/Lector (details below). In 1994 we began to develop web interfaces to all of our databases, and today, the vast majority of our usage comes from the web pages. Users are encouraged to go to our web-accessible on-line library and use the search tools and help available there. The guides linked below are listed only for archival purposes.
