The Electronic Text Center is staffed by five full-time positions, part-time graduate students drawn from various humanities departments at the University of Virginia, and portions of time from several library staff members. All Etext Center staff members verify, describe, and tag texts for inclusion in the on-line archive of electronic texts, work with patrons on their projects, and teach users to scan, search, and otherwise undertake computer-aided textual study. The staff's backgrounds in bibliography, undergraduate teaching, librarianship, textual editing, Special Collections, and graduate research reflects and supports the research and pedagogical needs of our patrons. Staff have gone on from the Etext Center to a variety of other positions, including full-time humanities computing positions at Oxford University and the Universities of Georgia, Kentucky, and Maryland, and to other web-related professional jobs at Harper Collins Publishers, Lucid Communications, Swiss Bank, The Library of Congress, Bottle Rocket, the UVa Darden Business School, and the Digital Library Federation.
